At the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she earned an MFA. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in the fields of theater, film and television. Her acting career began in the theater. Later, she was a part of several television shows, independent films and mainstream movies. Her most well-known roles were in the role of Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) and on BET's huge The Book of Negroes. Both series received major reviews, and she also won a lot of awards. She started her career as an actress in 1995 as Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest. Her credits on stage include The Broadway show of the Joe Turner musical Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. The most recognizable part of her career is her roles in the films Men of Honor as well as The Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. In the world of television, her character in the ABC's crime drama High Incident is well known.
